There is a place called the Community Police Academy. It is not for everyone – unless of course you are interested in knowing more about how the LBPD operates. There are live scenarios of gun-toting, domestic abusing, near suicide cases. You wear stuff. There is a mini-lesson on constitutional law on topics like ‘probable cause’….
The City is letting everyone know that they can text for emergency services “Call 911 if you can, text if you can’t”. Here are the instructions. So much going on at E7th & Obispo. The BIG heART event PLUS 2019’s first ArtWorksLB workshop – “All Hands on Deck” be part of it. Art work will be created that will be shown around the city. Nineteen skateboards will receive a mosaic art treatment with symbols of peace and understanding. Let your hands…
Last Saturday ArtWorksLB, a consortium of local non-profits and CD2 offered its kick-off workshop. Twenty-seven attended all inspired and supported by Dawn Mendelson and her artful ‘mosaic mafia team’. The feedback was over the top. We will be working to offer these community/network building gatherings around art in 2019. Keep your eyes peeled! And finally,…
RPNA’s Winter Meeting was just as informative and engaging as past years. Tracy Ames’ warm hospitality and donation of % of night’s take to RPNA set the tone. The meeting started with food and beverage in hand while Emily Stevens was recognized for her 10 year exemplary effort on behalf of Rose Park. Councilmember Jeannine…
The Rose Park Neighborhood Association annual board elections took place July 23, 2017. The following nominees were elected for the 2017-2018 term. The first meeting in August will serve to elect officers (per by-laws) and establish the year’s calendar. In September the regular monthly board meetings will be held at St. Matthew’s in Classroom A…
