Happenings in and around Rose Park Neighborhood!
ArtWorksLBC Director, Dawn Mendelson and Roses for Rose Park Artist, Cody Lusby facilitated two workshops at the Summer Arts Institute. The Summer Arts Institute is provided by the Long Beach Youth Chorus, offering youth of all ages an immersive summer program with experiences in choral music, visual and performing arts. The Institute was held from June 22-25 and ended with a celebration and performance at the Long Beach Family Arts Festival at St. Matthews Church on Saturday, June 25th.
Dawn Mendelson facilitated a mosaic workshop with Long Beach Youth Chorus students to create outdoor stepping stones.
Artist and Rose Park Resident Cody Lusby worked with Summer Arts Institute attendees to paint a rose mural on the property of St. Matthews Church. The completion of the rose mural was unveiled at the Long Beach Family Arts Festival on Saturday, June 25th. Come by St. Matthews Church and take a look!
The Long Beach Family Art Festival attendees also received a hands on experience to create two additional outdoor stepping stones. These beautiful works of art will be displayed on the grounds of St. Matthews Church.
